LEWISBURG, Pa. - Lillian Gottman of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team used a second round of 74 in as many days to move into a tie for fourth place after 36 holes at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 6).

Gottman was the best for the 'Dons for the second day in a row. Her 74-74-148, one stroke shy of a top-10 mark in program history, helped move Purdue Fort Wayne into sole possession of third place. The Mastodons (608) are just five shots behind Mount St. Mary's, which is in second. Bucknell leads the pack with a 590.

Gottman was +5 on the front, which featured two pars to start the round and a birdie on hole five. After four in a row, Gottman got off the bogey train after making the turn, getting a deuce on the 180-yard 10th. After a bogey on 11, she was bogey-free the rest of the day, turning in six pars and a birdie on the par-5 15th to finish 1-under on the back nine.

Louise Ekesall shot a 75 on Saturday, nine strokes better than her first round. She was 1-over on the front thanks to a birdie on seven, complementing six pars. On the back, she had pars on 12, 13, 16, 17 and 18 with a birdie on 15 sandwiched between. Ekesall is in 54th place after two rounds.

Hunar Mittal also improved in round two, shooting a 76 after a 79 in the first. The junior had nothing worse than a bogey on the front, finishing the side with a birdie on the 486-yard par-5 ninth. This sparked three pars in a row to start the back and a birdie later on 15. She moved into 24th place with her 76.

Olivia Jang shot a 79 on day two with the round highlighted by a stretch of five holes to finish the front nine where she went 1-under. She birdied the 345-yard sixth and parred the rest. Jang is now in 19th place with 18 to play.

Freshman Emily Gottman turned in an 81 thanks to eight pars and a birdie on hole 16, a 127-yard par-3. She is now in 42nd place.

Natalie Papa played as an individual and is in 61st place after her first two rounds of 84-77-161.

The final round of the Bucknell Invitational will begin on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. with multiple flights off the first tee.
