'Dons Break Three School Records at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team broke three school records at the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 24), with Sam Dunnett setting two.

Dunnett started with breaking the previous mile time by five seconds, finishing the event in 4:04.76. The Australia native then broke the 3000 meters record, entering a new time of 8:19.26 when he won the event.

Josiah Bird broke his second school record of the season, this time tossing a 17.18 meter weight throw mark for the new distance to beat.

Braydn Livingston (1:54.28) and Troy Golden (1:58.39) both ran personal record times in the 800 meters. Aaron Hoffer finished the event in 1:59.47 during his first collegiate attempt.

Jack Strong (4:18.07) and Marcus Ridge (4:34.85) ran their first collegiate mile at Notre Dame.

Ambrose English ran a personal record 200 meter dash, crossing the line in 23.31.

Dalyn Givens cleared a personal record pole vault mark of 4.65 meters

Purdue Fort Wayne will travel back to Notre Dame for the Meyo Invitational and to SVSU for the Jet's Pizza Invitational on Jan. 30-31.
