Rosneck Reaches 1,000 Career Kills in Win Over Youngstown State
10/10/2026 5:30:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Riley Rosneck of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team picked up the 1,000th kill of her career on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 10) in a 3-1 win (25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-13) over Youngstown State.
The junior needed just seven kills to join the 1,000-kill club entering Saturday's contest, and she had no problem doing that. She finished with 15 kills on an efficient .316 hitting percentage. While Rosneck performed well, she was still below the Mastodons' average on Saturday, as the team finished with a .384 clip.
Miona Dimitric (.455), Mya Plemons (.571), Bella DiBuono (.667) and Haiden Means (.500) were all efficient in their attempts. Even Trinity Rye's .275 was well above the regular season average for the 'Dons.
The Mastodon offense rolled in set one as they hit .542. Even Youngstown's productive .324 wasn't enough to overcome the Mastodons' red-hot start. Rye had five kills on six swings in the first set alone.
Set two went to the visitors, but Purdue Fort Wayne still hit .345. YSU hit .485 with just one attack error. Rosneck reached the 1,000-kill mark just before the break after set two.
Defense for both squads was at its best in set three. YSU hit just .161. Meanwhile, Purdue Fort Wayne hit .233 behind four kills from Rosneck. In the fourth, the Mastodons cruised, hitting a scorching .517 with just one attack error. They also had a 100 percent mark in the sideout category.
There were only 15 ties (seven of which came in the fourth set) and three lead changes all match long.
For the match, the 'Dons hit .384. Rosneck and Rye finished with 15 kills each and Dimitric pitched in 12. Means dished out 46 assists. Becky Barrett (19), Means (14), Dimitric (14) and Rosneck (11) all reached double-digit digs.
With the win, Purdue Fort Wayne improved to 11-8, 5-1 in Horizon League play. The Penguins fell to 7-10, 3-3.
The 'Dons will hit the road next week with a trip to Northern Kentucky on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 16-17).
