Mastodons Beat Green Bay 71-66 to Secure Home Postseason Game

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the second year in a row, the Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team beat Green Bay in the Gates Sports Center.
In the regular season finale of the 2025-26 season, the Mastodons used a 29-19 fourth quarter to top the Phoenix 71-66, who had already claimed the Horizon League regular season title.
The No. 5 seed Mastodons will play host to No. 6 Robert Morris on Wednesday (March 4) at 7 p.m. in the Gates Sports Center. The No. 1 seed Phoenix will welcome the winner of Milwaukee and Detroit Mercy.
Prior to Saturday's (Feb. 28) contest, Jordan Reid, Alana Nelson and Lauren Lee were honored for their six years of college basketball with a Senior Day celebration.
The difference in the game was an 11-0 run by the Mastodons in the fourth quarter. After Green Bay led 51-44, Lee drained a 3-pointer that started the 2:11 stretch, then finished it with a layup. Green Bay got back within one, but Nelson had back-to-back buckets to push it back to six.
Over the final three minutes of play, Purdue Fort Wayne made enough free throws (9-of-14) to seal the game.
The seniors shone brightly on the day dedicated to them. Nelson had 18 points, four rebounds and an assist. Reid had 13 points, five rebounds, five steals, and three assists without a turnover. Lee recorded 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Lili Krasovec added 13 points, four rebounds and four steals. She was also a team-high +19 in plus/minus.
The Mastodons forced Green Bay into 24 turnovers, a single-game high for the Phoenix this season. Purdue Fort Wayne recorded 27 points off those 24 turnovers. The 'Dons also held GB to eight assists, also their worst mark of the season.
There were seven ties and seven lead changes in the game, with the 'Dons leading for 18:05 and Green Bay for 17:24.
Purdue Fort Wayne improved to 18-12, 12-8 in Horizon League play. Green Bay fell to 22-8, 17-3.
