Purdue Fort Wayne Officially Welcomes Kate Peterson Abiad as WBB Head Coach

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne officially welcomed Kate Peterson Abiad, its new women's basketball head coach, to campus on Wednesday (April 15).
With a brief introduction from Director of Athletics Kelley Hartley Hutton, Peterson Abiad addressed a room full of fans, staff and local media on her first full day in Fort Wayne.
"I want to thank Coach Marc, who has built an amazing program here over the last several years," Peterson Abiad said. "She's put me in a position where we can be successful. She's left it here in a really good manner and I'm excited to move forward from here. My teams will be hard working. They will be willing to battle. They will have a strong understanding of the game of basketball, and they will be disciplined while having the freedom to utilize their individual strengths and skills."
"While we moved with speed, our priority was indeed to get it right, and I can say with complete confidence, we did," Hartley Hutton said.
