Masty Awards Celebrate Best of 2025-26

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On Wednesday (April 22) evening at the Walb International Ballroom, Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodon student-athletes and program contributors were celebrated during the annual Masty Awards. The event was hosted by WANE TV's Josh Ayen, men's volleyball's Kaden Fosdick and women's golf's Lillian Gottman. Several other student-athletes and staff presented awards during the evening.
The event provided recognition for the achievements – both athletically and academically – of Purdue Fort Wayne's sports teams during the 2025-26 academic year. Inductees into Chi Alpha Sigma were also recognized. Awards presented include:
- Academic Excellence Award - Female – Fran Carlo (women's track and field)
- Academic Excellence Award - Male – Jack Mills (men's cross country/track and field)
- Top Sports Performance Student-Athlete - Female – Scarlett Webster (women's soccer)
- Top Sports Performance Student-Athlete - Male – Andrew Mayer (men's volleyball)
- Heart of a Don Award – Ava Genovese (women's cross country/track and field)
- Tusks of Service – Women's Soccer
- Athlete of the Year - Male – Shane Anderson (men's soccer)
- Athlete of the Year - Female – Alana Nelson (women's basketball)
- Senior Athlete of the Year - Male – Nick Holder (men's golf)
- Senior Athlete of the Year - Female – Ali Sparks (women's track and field)
- Freshman Athlete of the Year - Male – Jonny Hernandez (men's soccer)
- Freshman Athlete of the Year - Female – Emily Gottman (women's golf)
- Comeback Player of the Year – Justin Hicks (men's golf)
- David R. Skelton Award – Riley Tate (women's cross country/track and field)
- Fan of the Year – 1. Tony and Marilee Evans 2. Dan Lipp
- Tony Laux Volunteer of the Year – Joey Rauwerda (track and field pole vault coach)
- Standing Ovation Award – 1. Irene Walters and Visit Fort Wayne 2. Mike and Pandy Sinish with 3 Rivers Credit Union
- Best Hypeman – Bella DiBuono (women's volleyball)
- Best Hair – Jenna Ellsworth (women's soccer)
- Best Super Fan – The Herd
- Best International Athlete – Sam Dunnet (men's cross country/track and field)
- Best Dynamic Duo – Kaden Fosdick and Haven Wankerl (men's volleyball)
- Best Social Media – Men's Volleyball
- Best Play – Angel Rodriguez (men's soccer PK vs. Green Bay) and Riley Tate (women's cross country/track and field, 3rd place at Horizon League Championships)
- Best Record Breaking Performance – Sam Dunnett (men's cross country/track and field, 4 minute mile at Boston University)
- Outstanding Individual Athletic Performance – Logan Muir (men's volleyball)
- Best Drip – Jack Mills (men's cross country/track and field) and Faith Allen (women's cross country/ track and field)
- Sportsmanship – Deanglo Elisee (men's basketball) and Bella Hodges (women's cross country/track and field)
- Small But Mighty (Cheer) – Kylie Curren
- Big Spirit Award (Pep Band) – Kolbey Johnson
- SALT Service to Students Award – Sports Medicine Staff (Emily Pinski, Ana Aguado, and Leo Corral)
