Mastodon Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Horizon League Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team wrapped up the 2025-26 season with a fourth-place finish at the Horizon League Championship on a blustery Monday (April 27).
The Mastodons finished their sixth Horizon League Championship with a score of 285-299-304-888. That mark is fifth-best in Mastodon history at a league championship. Wright State took home the Horizon League trophy with a score of 875, beating Oakland in a five-man playoff.
Brock Reschly was the top finisher for the Mastodons, shooting 74 in his last tournament of the year. He started his day with a par on the 474-yard opening hole before stringing six pars together. To start the back nine, he had five pars in a row, then got a birdie on hole 16. Reschly finished at 71-75-74-220 for seventh place, his best in his three appearances at the league championship.
AJ Agnew finished the week with a 75-78-76-229 for 34th place. He racked up five birdies in his final round of the season, scoring on holes two, six, eight, 10 and 11. He was 4-under from hole six to hole 12. In this impressive stretch, he stuck his second shot close on six for a birdie look, then played out of a pond bank to save par on seven. After that, he clubbed up 20 yards on the eighth hole and stuck it within range of a birdie putt. The junior wrapped up the day with seven holes of par or better on the back nine.
Justin Hicks found 11 pars before his first birdie of the day on hole 16, a short par-4 with an island green. Hicks finished his first Horizon League Championship appearance with a score of 73-76-78-227 and a 28th-place finish.
Nick Bellush had the only eagle of the Mastodons' entire tournament, highlighting his final round of 76. He had a good tee shot on 10 to put him in position to reach the green in two. He stepped up and drained a massive eagle putt from the right side. He improved on his 38th place from a year ago with a 20th-place finish at the 2026 vintage of the championship with a final score of 78-70-76-224.
Nick Holder turned in a final day of 81. He collected 10 pars in his final round of collegiate golf, including six in his last nine. His 66 in round one proved to be the best individual round of the championship. Holder finished his career with a 74.4 stroke average, the seventh-best in program history. He also played the most career rounds in Mastodon history with 132 rounds in his five years in Fort Wayne.
As a team, the Mastodons finished the 2025-26 season with the second-best stroke average in program history.
