Mastodons Picked Fourth in #HLMSOC Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team was picked to finish fourth in 2026 per the Horizon League Preseason Poll released on Monday (Aug. 17).
Purdue Fort Wayne earned 89 overall points in the poll, edged by Cleveland State (111), Green Bay (95) and league-newcomer Northern Illinois (92).
The Mastodons took home the runner-up trophy in 2025 after falling to Cleveland State in extra time in the league title game. It was the Mastodons' best finish in the program's NCAA Division I era. The Mastodons lost only three matches last season, finishing the year at 8-3-6 overall and 5-2-2 in league.
The 'Dons return a pair of 2025 all-league picks this season. Goalkeeper Sep Habibi was picked to the second team and midfielder Jonny Hernandez was named to the third team. Hernandez had an outstanding freshman campaign in 2025, also earning a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 freshman list.
The Mastodons open the 2026 season on Thursday (Aug. 20) at Xavier.
