NORMAL, Ill. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road at Illinois State on Sunday (Sept. 6).
Morgan Gallagher led the Mastodons with two shots, including one on goal. Hailey Hoskins also put a shot on target, while Mary McArdle, Cyann Retzloff and Scarlett Webster each recorded a shot in Sunday's match.
Sam Christle finished with five saves in goal for the 'Dons.
The Mastodons kept the Redbirds off the scoreboard in the second half after Illinois State found the back of the net late in the opening 45 minutes, scoring in the 35th, 40th and 42nd minutes.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 0-5-1 on the season, while Illinois State improves to 3-1-3.
The Mastodons travel to NAIA foe Saint Xavier to close out non-league action on Sunday (Sept. 13).
