CHICAGO, Ill. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team shut out Saint Xavier 3-0 in the Mastodons' final non-league game of the season on Sunday (Sept. 13).
Scarlett Webster put the 'Dons on the board in the 16th minute, finishing a cross from Amanda Leonard into the back of the net.
Dalia Sabet added her first collegiate goal in the 42nd minute to put Purdue Fort Wayne in front 2-0 at halftime.
In the 83rd minute, Bella Masse broke away from the Saint Xavier defense and placed a shot into the bottom-left corner of the net to extend the Mastodons' lead.
The Mastodons finished with a 31-9 advantage in shots and recorded 22 shots on goal, the second-most in a single match in program history. Purdue Fort Wayne also held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Audriana Rhyner led the Mastodons with five shots on goal, while Mary McArdle, Lexi Toporcer and Masse each recorded three.
Freshman Aimee Abraham earned her first collegiate shutout, making five saves to keep Saint Xavier off the scoreboard.
Purdue Fort Wayne improves to 1-5-1 on the season, while Saint Xavier falls to 1-5.
The Mastodons open Horizon League play at Detroit Mercy on Saturday (Sept. 19).
