2009-10 Season
Botts started all 31 games for IPFW in 2009-10. Was second on the team in scoring at 11.0 points a game. Once again, he led IPFW from behind the 3-point line with 68 triples. He also averaged an outstanding 45.7% from behind the arc which was tops in The Summit League. Botts was also the team leader in free throw percentage at 83.3 %. Needs just 11 points to hit the 1,000-point mark for his career. Scored a season-high 19 points vs. Oakland (12/5) and at North Dakota State (1/23). Hit five 3-pointers in three games, Oakland (12/5), North Dakota (12/12) and IUPUI (12/31). Had a season-high four rebounds twice, at Oral Roberts (1/9) and against the Golden Eagles in Fort Wayne (2/4).
Dished out five assist twice, Madonna (11/17) and at IUPUI (1/31). Botts had a season-high four steals against Oral Roberts (2/4). Also blocked shots against Southern Utah (1/14), Centenary (2/6) and South Dakota State (2/20). Was named a Scholar-Athlete by the Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association. He was one of just 10 players nationwide to receive the honor.
2008-09 Season
Started 29 of IPFW's 30 games in the 2008-09 season. Botts was second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game. Hit a team-high 55 3-pointers while averaging 42.3% from behind the arc. That average placed him 8th in The Summit League.Botts averaged 2.4 rebounds a game and dished out 47 assists. Botts was just .4 free throws per game under the mark for being eligible for National NCAA national rankings in free throw percentage. Had he been eligible, Botts would have been ranked as the best free throw shooter in the country at 91.5% made.
Scored a career-high 22 points on three different occasions on the year. Botts hit for 22 against Michigan State on Nov. 19, Oakland on Jan. 17 and UMKC on Feb. 26. He also shot a season-high 85.7% from the field in that game against the Kangaroos. Made a season-high five triples against Oakland on Jan. 17. In that same game he dished out a season-high six assists. Was a season best 8-8 from the free throw line vs. Eastern Illinois on Nov. 22. Hauled down an impressive career-high 10 rebounds in IPFW's win at Centenary on Jan 10.
2007-08 Season
High expectations were placed on Ben Botts when he arrived at IPFW from Muncie Central, and the freshman did not disappoint. Botts was the Mastodons' fourth leading scorer, averaging 10.0 points a game. He also grabbed 2.0 rebounds a contest.
For a majority of the season, Botts was ranked as one of the most accurate 3-point shooters in Division?I. He finished the campaign hitting on 45.3 percent (58-128) of his attempts from beyond the arc. He was just as accurate from the floor, averaging 46.0 percent (108-235). His 108 baskets was second best on the team (Burrows, 155). From the foul line, Botts was an 80.4 percent free-thrower (37-46). He dished out 30 assists, had 27 steals and rejected one shot.
He had three 20+ scoring games in 2007-08. Botts poured in a career-high 21 points against Manchester at the Memorial Coliseum on Nov. 11. He also had 20 point efforts against Marygrove College on Dec. 1 and at Kent State on Dec. 20. Had eight field goals in both the Manchester and Kent State contests. Was a career-high .833 from the floor at Wisconsin (5-6). Included in that game against the Badgers were four threes in five attempts (.800)
Botts hit five triples in two contests in '07-'08, both at the Coliseum vs. Marygrove and Manchester. He was a perfect 4-4 from the foul line in two games, Feb. 9 at Oral Roberts and on Feb. 16 at Oakland. He was also a perfect 3-3 from the line at Nebraska on Nov. 11.
Botts hauled down a career-high six rebounds against North Dakota State on Feb. 2. He also had three assists and three steals on two occasions.
Before coming to IPFW
Botts led Muncie Central to two 4A Championship title games. He was a two-time All-NCC First-Teamer, an Indiana All-Star, and Associated Press All-State Selection.

Ben is the son of Patrick and Jane Botts. He has a brother, Adam and a sister, Erica. He is a Business Management major at IPFW.
