Matthew Ambrose enters his third season as the Director of Player Development for the Purdue Fort Wayne men’s basketball program in 2026-27 after contributing to a pair of winning seasons in his first two campaigns in Fort Wayne.
In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the development of student-athletes, focusing on skill development and personal growth both on-and-off the court. He also assists with day-to-day operations involving all aspects of the program.
Ambrose began his collegiate playing career at the University of Indianapolis before transferring to Calvin University, where he served as team captain during his senior year. He played a pivotal role in the team's advancement to the NCAA Elite 8 in 2024, contributing in a key bench role.
A native of Kildeer, Illinois, Ambrose graduated from Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where he was a three-year team captain and earned all-state honors as a junior and senior.
