Two seasons prior, Gaines was named a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Second Team, and before that, Ben Botts ’11 was named to the NCAA Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar Athlete team for the second consecutive year (2010, 2011), which honors twelve student-athletes across the nation annually.
Following IPFW’s membership in the Summit League, the honors have continued. Former Mastodons Ben Botts ’11, Deilvez Yearby ’10, David Carson '09, and Jaraun Burrows ’08 all were named All-Summit League during their senior seasons. Following the 2009 season, junior Deilvez Yearby was honored as the Summit League’s Sixth Man of the Year.
Since joining the Summit League prior to 2007-08 season, Jasick has watched IPFW student-athletes earn eight Summit League Player of the Week honors, and oversaw 25 Academic All-Summit League honorees.
Prior to joining the Summit League, forward DeWitt Scott ‘08 finished 15th in the nation in three point accuracy and garnered NCAA Division I All-Independent First Team honors during the 2005-’06 season.
Before arriving at IPFW, Jasick was a member of the coaching staff at Middle Tennessee State University. During the 2004-05 season at MTSU, he helped the Blue Raiders to 19 wins and coached Mike Dean and Michael Cuffee to All-Sun Belt Conference selections. He was responsible for video coordination, player academic progress, and community service projects.
During the 2003-04 season, Jasick was on the coaching staff of David Conrady at Newberry College. During his tenure, the Indians won 16 games, the best mark the school had seen since 1981-82. The Indians appeared in the South Atlantic Conference Championship game for the first time in school history, led by First Team All-SAC performer Rashaad Carter.
Jasick began his career as a volunteer assistant at the University of North Alabama in the Gulf South Conference.
Jasick received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Education from Mars Hill College in 2000. He then obtained his Masters in Education degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 2002.
