Former Mastodon standout and Fort Wayne Hall of Fame inductee Bronn Pfeiffer is in his 11th season with the men's soccer team in 2018.
A native of Fort Wayne, Pfeiffer's coaching career began back at the high school level, where he spent six seasons at Fort Wayne Northrop, winning an SAC championship and one year at New Haven, claiming coach of year honors. At the club level, he coached the prestigious Fort Wayne Citadel squad and worked as director of coaching with the Fort Wayne Fever for eight seasons.
He has coached at numerous college camps, including Indiana University (10 years) and University of Kentucky (five years). In addition, he was head coach of the Mastodons from 1987-1990 and an assistant at Indiana Tech for two seasons.
In recent years, Pfeiffer has coached many of Fort Wayne's finest soccer players, including USA World Cup member Demarcus Beasley, Jamar Beasley (MLS, MISL), Phil Presser (MISL), Jeff Richey (MISL) and dozens of clubs players, who have competed at the collegiate and professional level. He is a United States Soccer Federation "A" licensed coach.
Pfeiffer was a four-year All-SAC player for Wayne High School in Fort Wayne, before earning all-conference and all-regional honors at Fort Wayne. He spent three years playing for the Fort Wayne Flames/Indiana Kick, where he was voted the team's top defender and team captain in 1989-90. He was selected in the 1990 National Professional Soccer League's dispersal draft and played for the Detroit Rockers for six years.
Pfeiffer currently resides in Fort Wayne with his wife, April, and son Andre.
