Josh Routte joined the Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer program as the associate head coach in April 2026. He is no stranger to Fort Wayne, serving as the goalkeeper coach for the Purdue Fort Wayne men's and women's programs for three seasons. He was an assistant coach at Davidson for the 2024 and 2025 women's soccer seasons.
He spent the two seasons as a women’s soccer assistant coach at NCAA Division III Manchester. He was Manchester’s head of recruiting and planned visits and recruiting trips. He planned and led all training and film sessions. He helped developed two-time Honorable Mention All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree Adelle Stanko. Additionally, Jessica Hudnall was a Second Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selection in 2019. During his second year at Manchester in 2020-21, Routte served as interim head coach for five matches.
He was the previously Director of Goalkeeping at the Fort Wayne Sport Social Club while serving as head coach for multiple teams at the organization. He has also served as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at Fort Wayne FC. He held the same title in 2020 for the Canterbury High School varsity squad. His team earned 11 shutouts and finished as state runner up.
Routte served as the goalkeeper coach for the Zanesville Arsenal Soccer Club in Ohio. He is also a managing member and goalkeeper coach for 614 Ultimate Goalkeeper, LLC, which strives to bring top-level personal goalkeeping training to Central Ohio.
During his collegiate soccer career, Routte was a team captain and the starting goalkeeper at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. He suited up 41 times for the Muskies and collected 203 saves during his collegiate career.
Josh graduated from Muskingum University in December of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration. He also minored in business management and coaching.
