Collin Leiter enters his 17th season as IPFW's assistant women's volleyball coach. Leiter's volleyball career began at Harding High school in Fort Wayne, Indiana under IPFW Men's coach Arnie Ball. A four year starter, he was a member of coach Ball's first Indiana High School Boys Volleyball state championship team in 1977. Leiter played for the Men's Volleyball team from 1978-82, which included the transition from a club sport to a varsity sport in 1981. He graduated in 1982 with a B.S.Degree in Mathematics. One of the all-time great servers in IPFW history, he had held the NCAA single-season aces record of 87 until it was surpassed in 1991. Leiter earned his first coaching experience at IPFW as an assistant under Coach Ball in 1981 and 1984. He returned to the position in 1987 under new head coach Lisa Sheehan and has stayed on for coach Tim Heffron and coach Hartley.
