Stephani became the closer in 1998. She does what a closer in baseball does, takes the pressure of the end of a game and serves strikes. This is a role that not many people can fill. It is designed to give the team a lift in tight matches where a spark can make the difference between success and failure. Look for her to continue to use this ability in the 1999 season.

In 1996 Stephani transferred from Ashland University. She is a 5'6" defensive specialist originally from Gas City, IN. Stephani started for Ashland as a freshman.
