Lauren Hertle joins the Purdue Fort Wayne athletics staff as the Graduate Assistant for Creative Content, bringing hands on experience in digital content creation, sports coverage, and communications.
Prior to joining the Mastodons, Hertle served as the post graduate intern for communications and social media with the Ohio Athletic Conference. In that role, she contributed to the conference’s digital strategy by monitoring and increasing social media engagement and analytics, modernizing the record book system, and providing extensive coverage of OAC championships.
Selected as a College Sports Communicators grant recipient for the 2026 Convention, Hertle served on the content team where she helped produce and capture engaging content to promote convention speakers, highlight the event, and create memorable experiences for attendees. During the convention, her photography was recognized in the CSC Creative & Digital Design Contest, where she placed third in the College Division and third in Best of Division III in the Photo of the Year competition.
A fall 2025 graduate of Muskingum University, Hertle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Administration and Sports Communication. During her time at Muskingum, she was a four-year letter winner on the women’s soccer team and received Academic All-OAC honors for her performance on the field and in the classroom. She was also an active member of the Muskingum Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from 2022-25 and served as one of Muskingum’s OAC SAAC representatives for two years.
Alongside her athletic and leadership commitments, Hertle worked as student employee in the Muskingum athletics department where she managed their social channels, assisted with game day operations, and supported a variety of department initiatives. Her work and leadership earned her a selection to represent Muskingum at the 2024 NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Forum, an event that brings together select NCAA student-athletes to develop leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and explore the broader responsibilities of being a collegiate student-athlete. The following year, she was selected to the NCAA Division III CSC Student Program held during the CSC Convention in Orlando.
As a native of Akron, Ohio, Hertle now lives in the Fort Wayne area.
