AVON, Ind. - The IPFW men's golf team opened the 2004 season at the Butler University Spring Invitational. It is the first event for the squad, since IPFW announced that it would sponsor the sport back in September.
IUPUI was the overall winner of the six team event with a score of 622.
In less than ideal conditions, the Mastodons finished sixth with a combined score of 685.
Craig Sauder (So/Leo, IN) was the top finisher for IPFW, carding rounds of 81 and 82 to finish at 163, tied for 15th.
The overall top medalist was Brian Stuard of Oakland University who shot 77-73 for a 150.
