Terre Haute, IN - Indiana State got a pair of second half goals to stop IPFW, 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Terre Haute.
The non-conference match was a make-up of a match that had to be postponed on October 2, due to illness within the IPFW team.
Coming off of a long road trip to the Dakotas last weekend, IPFW fought Indiana State to a scoreless first half.
The Sycamores (5-9-0) cracked the scoring column in the 57th minute as senior forward Sarah Whiteley took a pass from freshman midfielder Caitlin Noble and chipped a shot over IPFW keeper Malinda Holmer from just inside the 18.
The goal was Whiteley's fifth of the season.
Indiana State got an insurance goal at the 62:17 mark on freshman forward Ellen Gettemeier's first collegiate score.
IPFW placed four shots on goal in the match, but all were turned back by the Sycamore goal keeping tandem of Rachel Rudzis and Erin Gibson. The two ISU keepers each played a half and stopped two shots.
IPFW sophomore midfielder Danielle Luther led the Mastodon offense with two of those shots on goal.
Holmer made six saves in the loss.
IPFW (0-12-0) returns to action on Friday night, hosting Centenary College in a Summit League match, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
