Oxford, OH-The 'Dons placed eighth at the Miami Invite over the weekend, improving five places and 21 points over last year's performance at the meet. The field was very competitive, with fourteen teams including Miami, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Ball State, Butler, and Valpo.
IPFW had team-high second place finishes from Ashley Ritchey and Valerie Hardesty.
Ritchey finished second in the 5K with a time of 17:43.98, while Hardesty was the runner up in the 3K steeple chase at 11:16.74.
Freshman Mary Ballinger also had a great performance in the steeple chase finishing just two seconds behind Hardesty to capture third place in the event.
The 'Dons will travel to Lawrence, Kansas next weekend to compete in the Kansas Relays.
