Roehm Hits Double Digits as IPFW Falls to Dayton

Dayton, OH - The Mastodons opened up the 2007 season on the road at the Dayton Flyer Classic on Friday. IPFW fell to host Dayton 3-0 at the Frericks Center.
In game one, Dayton ran off to a 12-2 lead and never looked back. They took game one 30-15.
The Mastodons came alive in game two, keeping the match close for the first half. IPFW was down by just one at the 16-15 mark when the Flyers went on a run. An 8-1 streak would put Dayton up 24-16 as they took game two, 30-19.
Game three would be all Flyers, 30-16.
Sophomore Rebekah Roehm led the 'Dons on the offense with 11 kills. Junior Jessica Miller added eight kills.
Junior Jessica Dominiak had 17 assists and Peachy Jankowski was strong on defense with 19 digs.
The Flyers were led by Jamie-Lee Richards with 12 kills and 5 service aces. Erin Schroeder would add 37 assists and Adrienne Green had 15 digs.
The Mastodons (0-1) will face the Fightin' Illini of the University of Illinois at 1 p.m. in the Frericks Center on Saturday. Their final match of the Dayton Flyer Classic will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday against the Falcons of Bowling Green State.
Their home opener is Tuesday, August 28th at 7 p.m. against the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University.
