
Bison's Bue Hits Career Point Mark in Win Over IPFW

Fargo, ND - The Mastodons wrapped up their first Summit League roadtrip at North Dakota State on Monday night. The Bison used a late run to secure a double-digit lead at half, 41-26. North Dakota State continued that dominance in the second half for the win, 87-47. NDSU's Lisa Bue broke the 1,000 career point mark in tonight's game.
The Bison ran off to a 4-0 lead to start the game before Johnna Lewis-Carlisle scored on a three-pointer for IPFW, 4-3. Samantha Edwards would tie the game up a short time later at 7, and IPFW would take their first lead on a three-pointer by Courtney Reed, 10-9.
The lead was short lived, as the Bison went on a 6-0 run to take a 5 point lead, 15-10 at the 13:23 mark. Over the next seven minutes, the 'Dons would hold the Bison to single digit leads before a 7-0 run would but NDSU up by 10 with 4:38 left in the half.
The Mastodons would cut the lead back down to seven a few baskets later, but another run would give the Bison their largest lead with 46 seconds left in the half, 16 points. The Bison would finish the half ahead by fifteen, 41-26.
The Bison started and finished the second half with a double-digit lead. North Dakota State would go on to take the game with a forty point difference, 87-47.
Lewis-Carlisle was held to just nine points. She was perfect at the free-throw line, 4-4 along with five steals.
Chelsey Jackson, Courtney Reed and Natalie Roberts each had eight points for IPFW. Roberts led defensively with 7 boards.
North Dakota State was led by Lisa Bue with a double-double of 22 points and 10 boards.
Emily Moran added 16 points while Annika Walseth and Brenda Slyt each had 10 points.
The Mastodons (4-9, 2-2 Summit) will now head to Detroit for the last leg of their roadtrip on Wednesday at 7 PM.
IPFW will open their 2008 home season with a pair of Summit League games. They will host Centenary College on Saturday at 4 PM in a doubleheader at the Memorial Coliseum. On Monday, January 14th, the 'Dons will host Oral Roberts at 7 PM in the Gates Center.
