Mastodons Wrap Up Fall Season at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - After a slow start on the first day, the IPFW men's golf team played exceptionally well on the final 18 holes at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tennessee.
After a first day total of 601(307-294), the Mastodons fired a team total of 293 on day two, good enough for 13th place(894). The champion at the event was Austin Peay (832) followed by Missouri (841) and Belmont (860).
The 'Dons were led once again by Ryan Olbin, who after firing a pair of 72s on the first day, carded another even par 72 on day two, and finished in 17th place. Right behind Olbin was Tyler Haire with 54-hole total of 222, good enough for 36th place. Jon Balyeat fired his second 75 of the event, and finished tied for 65th with a 228. Jacob Bailey recovered from a rough start on day one, and finished the event in 78th place with a 232. Rounding out the 'Dons was Johnny McMillen, who carded a 76 on the final day, and finished in a tie for 82nd with a 233.
Austin Peay's Eric Burns took home medalist honors after firing a 54-hole total of 199(66-66-67).
The Austin Peay Intercollegiate was the final event of the fall season for the men's golf team. The spring schedule will be announced later this month.
