IPFW Places 11th at Butler Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS - The IPFW men's golf team competed Monday and Tuesday in the Butler Invitational at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The two day, 54 hole event concluded this afternoon with the Mastodons finishing in 11th place after firing a combined score of 892. The team champion at the event was the University of Indianapolis(840), followed by Creighton (862) and Moorehead State(863).
The top finisher for the `Dons was Ryan Olbin, who carded a three round total of 218(73-73-72), to finish in 21st place. Right behind Olbin in the standings was Jacob Bailey, who fired the team's lowest round at the event with a 70 in round two, and finished in 28th place with a 219(74-70-75).
Also for IPFW, Tyler Haire finished tied for 54th, after firing a 225(74-75-76). Patrick Kelley carded a three round total of 230(76-76-78), and tied for 71st. And Eric Augustus fired a 236(79-79-79), and finished in 85th.
University of Indianapolis junior Seth Fair took home medalist honors after shooting a three round total of 205(67-68-70).
Next up for the men's golf team is the IPFW Fall Classic held at Chestnut Hills Golf Club. First round play begins October 13.
