Mastodon Women's Golf Team in Third at UC Women's Collegiate Invite

OXFORD, Ohio - The IPFW Mastodon women's golf team currently sits in a tie of third place at the 10-team University of Cincinnati Women's Collegiate Invite hosted at the Hueston Woods-White Golf Course in Oxford, Ohio.
The `Dons carded a first-round team score of 332, tied with Butler University for third overall. Cincinnati leads the field with a 315, with Youngstown State following behind with a 327. Cleveland State (335), Bethel (339), Oakland (341), Dayton (341), Detroit Mercy (341) and Robert Morris (348) round out the teams in the field.
Nicolle Geyer paced IPFW during the first day with an 82, putting her in a tie for 13th place, with Jillian Speece and Abbey Waltke each carding an 83, good for a tie of 18th overall. Nikki LeRose's score of 84 rounded out the scoring four, putting her in a tie for 24th, with Alison Rathsman shooting an 87, tying her with 35th.
The team heads back out to the links on Tuesday, April 1 to partake in rounds two and three of the event.
