IPFW Men Take Second at Caputo Invitational

MUNDELEIN, Ill. - The IPFW Mastodons performed well in their final tune-up before the Summit League Championships, taking second at the Caputo Invitational hosted by Loyola University.
The `Dons carded a three-round score of 925, 13 strokes behind host and team champion Loyola. North Dakota (928), Creighton (928), Wisconsin-Green Bay (931) and Chicago State (997) rounded out the varsity teams in the field.
Leading the way for IPFW was senior Patrick Kelley, who shot a third round 76, taking his two-day total to 224. Andy Campbell took sixth in the field with a total of 229, while Nathan Hoff carded a three-round total of 238. Jon Balyeat was the final scoring `Don on the squad, carding a third-round 85, taking her total to 250.
Playing as individuals, Ryan Olbin (79-84-81=244) tied for 29th, Eric Augustus (84-82-83=249) placed 35th and Tyler Haire (89-84-79=252) took 39th overall.
The squad next travels to Western Illinois University for the Summit League Championships on April 20 through 22.
