IPFW Climbs a Spot at the League Championships

MACOMB, Ill. - The IPFW men's golf team carded a second-round total of 314, the seventh best in the field, moving the squad up from tenth place to ninth at the Summit League Championships, hosted at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course.
The `Dons second-round 314 gives the squad a two-day total of 624, two strokes ahead of tenth place Centenary and eight behind eighth place IUPUI. UMKC leads the field after the second day with a 587, with host Western Illinois (590), Southern Utah (593), South Dakota State (598), North Dakota State (600), Oral Roberts (601) and Oakland (614) all looking to improve on the third and final day of competition.
Leading the way in the middle day for IPFW was Nathan Hoff, who shot a 75, tied for the eleventh best round of the day in the entire field, with Patrick Kelley and Hartley Mcleod shooting a 77 and 79, respectively. Andy Campbell closed out the scoring golfers for the `Dons with an 83, while Tyler Haire shot an 84 as the alternate.
Overall, Kelley is the leader after the second day with a two-day total of 151, placing him 20th overall, with McLeod (157, T-36th), Hoff (159, T-40th), Campbell (160, T-44th) and Haire (165, T-46th) looking to improve on their standings in the final afternoon of competition.
The squad takes to the course for the third and final day of competition, with an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships on the line for the winner.
