IPFW Women's Tennis Wins Seventh Straight

Indianapolis, IN - The IPFW Mastodon women's tennis team improved to 13-7 on the season and 3-0 in the Summit League after a 4-3 victory over the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds on Saturday afternoon at the league cluster hosted by IUPUI.
IPFW picked up the doubles point, as the duo of Sachi Janek and Amy Recht won 8-4 at No. 2. Hanna Hager and Alexa Rang won 8-6 at No. 3 pairs, with the No. 1 match was not finished.
Southern Utah tied the team score at one apiece when Janek fell at No. 2 singles, before Recht pushed the `Dons ahead with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1. An Ashley Coulson loss at No. 3 tied the match once again at 2-2 before Hager and Lish secured the win for IPFW; Hager winning 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and Lish 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4. Southern Utah's win at No. 6 singles gave the match its 4-3 final score.
The `Dons take on Oakland University in the final game of the Indianapolis cluster, starting at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
