IPFW Places Eighth at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons took eighth of nine teams at the Irish Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
IPFW totaled 612 strokes over the two rounds, six ahead of ninth place Bucknell and 11 behind seventh place Pennsylvania. Northwestern won the event with an eight-over 568 with Notre Dame and Cleveland State placing second and third, respectively, carding team scores of 570 and 583.
Seniors Nathan Hoff and Andy Campbell ended the 36-hole event with identical scores of 151, good for 35th overall, but got to them in different ways. Hoff shot a consistent 76-75 over the two days with Campbell a more erratic 78-73. Patrick Kelley placed 48th as he carded a 155, shooting rounds of 81 and 74 with Hartley Mcleod (83-74) and Tyler Haire (81-76) each shooting a two-day total of 157, tying for 51st in the field. Ryan Olbin played as an individual at the event, shooting rounds of 78 and 77, placing 48th in the field.
The `Dons take a weekend off from competition before traveling to Libertyville, Illinois to compete in the Wilson Corp. Invitational, hosted by Loyola (IL) on April 14 and 15.
