Mastodons Swing to 11th Place Finish at Skyhawk Classic

Martin, TN- On the second and final day of Skyhawk Classic hosted by Tennessee-Martin, the IPFW men's golf team moved up one spot in the standings to finish the event in 11th place. The Mastodons carded a 900 (303-296-301) team total over 54-holes.
Central Arkansas took home the team title with an impressive two-day total of 839. Murray State finished runner-up with a 847.
The trio of Jon Balyeat, Ryan Olbin and Bruno Carvalho, led IPFW on Tuesday, as each fired a team-low 75 on the final 18 holes. Balyeat, who fired a 150 on day one, finished the event tied for 42nd place with a 225. Olbin and Carvalho finished tied for 53rd place finish with rounds of 77-76-75 and 76-77-75, respectively, good enough for a 228 total.
After rounds of 77 and 69 on day one, Drew Imel played well once again with a 76 in round three, finishing in a team-best 22nd place. Jacob Bailey played steady in Tennessee with an 80 on the final 18 holes, ending the tournament tied for 77th place.
Jad Sinclair of Central Arkansas won the individual competition with three sub-par rounds of 67-66-70 (-13). Murray State's Jared Wolfe finished two strokes behind with a 205.
The men's golf team will wrap-up its fall schedule on October 18-19 at the Dayton Flyers Invitational in Kettering, Ohio. The tournament will be played at the NCR Country Club.
