Mastodons in Third Place at Cleveland State Invitational

Cleveland, OH- The IPFW men's golf team is in third place after firing a 305 in the first round of the Cleveland State Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is being played at the windy, 7,124 yard, par 72, Sand Ridge Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio. Round two was suspended due to darkness, but the field will finish their remaining holes and round three tomorrow morning.
The Mastodons are 10 strokes behind tournament leader Malone College (295), and one stroke back of second place Cincinnati (305).
Leading the Mastodons on Monday was freshman Drew Imel, who fired a first round 75 to sit in a tie for 7th place overall. Imel came into today's event with a 76.0 scoring average.
Jacob Bailey carded 76 in round one, placing the sophomore in a tie for 11th place heading into Tuesday. Senior Jon Balyeat is tied for 17th place after shooting five-over 77. Freshman Tomaz Pinheiro fired a 78 and junior Ryan Olbin shot an 82, to sit in a tie for 26th and 46th place, respectively.
The third and final round of the Cleveland State Invitational will begin tomorrow morning following the conclusion of round two.
