Fort Wayne, IN- IPFW women's soccer team suffered its second straight loss after Oakland prevailed in a high scoring contest, 5-2.

With the loss, the Mastodons fall to 5-8-0 overall (2-3-0, Summit League), while Oakland remains undefeated in conference play and moves to 8-5-2 (4-0-1 Summit League).

The Golden Grizzlies jumped out to an early lead nine minutes into the first half. Kara Weber scored a header off a corner kick assisted by Dani Haelewyn. However, IPFW answered, tying the score at one after junior Tara O'Toole beat the keeper on a shot from 15 yards out assisted by sophomore Rhea Proctor.

Forward Serena San Cartier scored two unanswered goals for Oakland six minutes later, just twelve seconds apart. The first came on a shot from eight yards out assisted by Meghan Reynolds. Her second goal came just 12 seconds later off of a shot from 10 yards out assisted by Julianne Boyle.

Four minutes before halftime, IPFW was able to cut the lead to one after another goal scored by Tara O'Toole, assisted by Rhea Proctor.

The Golden Grizzlies stretched the lead to 5-2 off of early second half goals by Dani Haelewyn (assisted by Nicole DeLuca) and Nicole DeLuca who placed the shot into the upper left corner from 18 yards out.

IPFW committed a total of 11 fouls and earned one yellow card while Oakland committed five fouls and one yellow card. Freshman Erin Nayler played 64 minutes, making six total saves for the 'Dons while junior Kristen McFadden finished the game making one save.

The Mastodons will return to action on Friday (Oct. 22) when they take on the Leathernecks of Western Illinois at Hefner Stadium with a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.
