CHARDON, Ohio - Sophomore #Bruno Carvalho#'s career-low round of 68 led the IPFW charge in the opening rounds of Cleveland State's Telich/Sunlife Financial Invitational.

Carvalho opened the tournament with a four-over 76 before carding his three-under 68 to set a new collegiate 18-hole best. His two-over 144 currently places him in a tie for fifth place in the 81-player field.

#Drew Imel# checked in second on the squad in Cleveland, as he tallied rounds of 75 and 77 to check in at 33rd place overall. #Tomaz Pinheiro# carded rounds of 76 and 80, tying teammate #Roberto Paciornick# in 51st place. Paciornick fired identical rounds of 78 in the event to post a 156 overall.

#John McMillen# rounded out the IPFW scorers after rounds of 77 and 82. His two-round total of 159 has him in a tie for 64th overall.

As a team, the Mastodons' rounds of 303 and 304 have them in ninth place overall in the 15-team event.

Malone University fired rounds of 297 and 284 to take the overall team lead with Justin Lower and Richie Schembechler in first and second place overall for the Cavaliers.

Third and final round action will start tomorrow morning at 8:30 am with a shotgun start.
