Grand Forks, ND - Coming off a pair of close losses in Cincinnati, Ohio the IPFW men's basketball team will look to even its record against the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota on Tuesday night at the Betty Englestad Sioux Center.

Redshirt sophomore Frank Gaines leads the Mastodons in scoring at 13.3 points a game. He registered the first double-double of his career at Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon (16pts. - 11 rebs.). IPFW had 12 steals against the Bearcats. It was the most thefts for the 'Dons in two years. Senior guard Ben Botts has moved into 9th all-time in scoring at IPFW (1,022). He needs just 10 points to take over eighth place.

IPFW has been tough on teams trying to shoot the 3-pointer. The Mastodons are allowing opponents to connect on just 17.6 percent of their attempts from behind the arc. IPFW will try to avoid a letdown after battling perennial Sweet 16 team Xavier to overtime and BIG EAST's Cincinnati to the final buzzer.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING SIOUX
The Fighting Sioux enter Tuesday night's contest with a record of 2-1 after wins against Sacramento State and Waldorf College. UND is led in scoring by freshman reserve guard/forward Troy Huff at 13.7 points a game. The 2010-11 true freshman class of Aaron Anderson, Troy Huff and Jamal Webb have jumped right into the mix this season and their scoring output has been stellar. The trio scored 30 points in the season-opening win against Waldorf and contributed 35 of the team's 53 points at No. 25 Wisconsin. They also added 24 points vs. Sacramento State.

North Dakota was manhandled by IPFW last year at the Memorial Coliseum, 73-52. The Fighting Sioux will have to deal with a number of defensive looks from the Mastodons. Look for North Dakota to try to get to the foul line early and often. The Fighting Sioux are hitting on 81.0% of their freebies.
