ROCHESTER, Mich. - The IPFW Mastodons ran its win streak to a season-high six, sweeping the Oakland Grizzlies on the road 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.

Emily Spencer had a match-high 12 kills while Kendall Wienkes added 11. Megan Wiler and Jessie Manwaring each had a half-dozen kills, while Alli Hook chipping in five. Megan Steenhuysen dished out 32 assists, while picking up a dozen digs for the double-double, as Spencer picked up her 15th double-double of the season with 11 digs.

Tessa McGill dug up a match-high 22 kill attempts for the 'Dons, leading the aforementioned trio of players in double-figure digs, as Wienkes was just off the pace with eight. Manwaring and Wiler each had three blocks, with Wienkes serving up a trio of service aces.

IPFW (15-6, 8-2 Summit League) jumped in front early, leading by three at 4-1, and kept its lead until Oakland (10-9, 5-5 Summit) rolled to a 3-0 run, leading by two at 10-8. The teams went back-and-forth for the rest of the set, which saw ten tie scores, and were tied at 18 before IPFW ran off to six straight points to win the opening frame 25-20.

The Mastodons led wire-to-wire in the second set, leading by as many as 12 at 20-8. The feisty Grizzly squad fought back, closing to within as few as five at 24-19, before Spencer closed the frame with her 10th kill of the match, giving the 'Dons the 25-19 set victory.

IPFW trailed for just one point in the third set; however, the largest lead by the Mastodons was six following an IPFW 4-0 run to make the score 15-9. Oakland fought back, cutting the 'Don advantage to just one at 24-23, before Manwaring closed the door on the comeback attempt with a powerful kill down the line, securing the sweep for IPFW.

The Mastodons finished the match with 43 kills to 30 for Oakland, while hitting .160 with seven service aces.

Oakland was led by Taylor Humm with nine kills, as Ashley Nevelle dished out 21 assists, and Alli Kirk had 16 digs.

The Mastodons return to action on Friday, October 21, where the team looks to keep its win streak intact against the Bison of North Dakota State with a 8:00 p.m. eastern time first serve.
