Volleyball Hosting Southern Utah for Final Time in Summit League Action

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Southern Utah University Thunderbirds make its final regular season appearance at the Gates Sports Center as members of The Summit League, as next year the school will become a member of the Big Sky Conference.

SCOUTING THE THUNDERBIRDS...
Southern Utah, in its final regular season appearance against the Mastodons, come into the Gates Sports Center with an 8-16 record, while going 5-8 in the league, but have won four of its last five matches.
Leading the attack for the Thunderbirds is Analaine Mailoto, who has 401 kills on the season (4.13 per set), as Kylie Schofield and Cashaana Renfro have 207 and 187, each. Gabi Mirand has dished out 818 assists for an average of
9.40 per set, while Jordan Anderson has a team-leading 24 service aces, with Mailoto (21) and Mirand (20) close behind.
Mailoto leads a close battle for team leader in digs with 284, as two others, Davia Lee (253) and Alissa Youart (234) are within 50 digs of the leader, while Anderson (174) and Mirand (144) have each eclipsed the triple-figure plateau. Renfro is the team leader in blocks with 96 (1.01 per set), with Hailey Moore close behind with 73.
SWEEPING THE WEEK AWARDS...
After their performances against North Dakota State and South Dakota State, IPFW juniors Megan Steenhuysen and Tessa McGill were named the Summit League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. For Steenhuysen, it was her second career award, while McGill picked up her second of the season and fifth career honor.

• Freshman outside hitter Kendall Wienkes tied the IPFW single-match three-set record with seven service aces against the Cowgirls of Wyoming
• With 34 digs against South Dakota State on October 22, Tessa McGill now has nine 30+ dig efforts in her career at IPFW.
• Emily Spencer has recorded double-figure kills in each of her first 23 matches this season, the longest streak by a player to open her IPFW career in program history, passing the former mark of nine held by IPFW career kill leader Fabiana Souza.
• Junior libero Tessa McGill has recorded double-figure digs in each of her last 31 games dating back to last season, the second longest such streak in program history which gives her two of the three longest such streaks
• McGill became the program's 14th member of the 1,000-dig club against Milwaukee, and she reached 1,000 career digs in just 69 matches, the quickest to the milestone of any player in program history
