Volleyball Looks to Clinch Playoff Berth Against Golden Eagles

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons are a victory away from clinching its fifth consecutive Summit League Tournament berth, and will get its first opportunity to earn a spot Saturday evening against Oral Roberts. The game is also Breast Cancer Awareness Night, a game in which $1 from every ticket sold will go to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Oral Roberts comes into Fort Wayne having won 19 of its last 21 matches, despite its three-set loss to Oakland University last evening.
Offensively the squad is paced by Elizabeth McVicker who has 257 kills, while Sheina Fernandes has 207 kills. Four others; Olivia Opus (192), Tatum Fredeen (169), Joana Gruber (165), and Jessica Pancratz (148) have over 100 kills, with Laura Taylor just behind with 94, while leading the team with 960 assists (10.11 per set) and 31 service aces.
Bruna Silva has 524 digs to pace the team, as Ophus and Taylor have 253 and 204, respectively. McVicker leads the team with 98 blocks, averaging 1.03 per set, with Fernandes chipping in 73, and Pancratz 56.

• Tessa McGill has climbed into 13th in Summit League history in career digs, now with 1,433
• IPFW junior libero Tessa McGill was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on September 12, the fourth time in her career she has earned the honor
• Freshman outside hitter Kendall Wienkes tied the IPFW single-match three-set record with seven service aces against the Cowgirls of Wyoming
• With 34 digs against South Dakota State on October 22, Tessa McGill now has nine 30+ dig efforts in her career at IPFW.
• Emily Spencer has recorded double-figure kills in each of her first 24 matches this season, the longest streak by a player to open her IPFW career in program history, passing the former mark of nine held by IPFW career kill leader Fabiana Souza.
• Junior libero Tessa McGill has recorded double-figure digs in each of her last 32 games dating back to last season, the second longest such streak in program history which gives her two of the three longest such streaks
• McGill became the program's 14th member of the 1,000-dig club against Milwaukee, and she reached 1,000 career digs in just 69 matches, the quickest to the milestone of any player in program history
