Volleyball Returns Home for Three Straight

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Following its longest road trip in terms of distance, the IPFW Mastodons return home for three straight matches, its longest homestand of the season, opening with the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Eastern Michigan comes into Tuesday's contest having lost three of its last four matches, all in the Mid-American Conference, after starting the season 12-2, including an eight-match win streak.
Rachel Iaquaniello is far and away the team leader in kills with 251 on the year, averaging 3.92 kills per set. Paige Roback sits second on the squad with 160 kills, while Kristen Baker and Erin Short have 144 and 130, respectively. Ashley Mason has dished out 662 assists, an average of 10.03 per set, while Iaquaniello has 21 service aces, two more than Baker, who has 19.
Defensively Haley Stein has a team-best 357 digs, averaging 5.41 per set, with Iaquaniello (183), Mason (181), Short (135) and Cassie Sowers (135) each surpassing the triple-digit plateau. Leading the team's block has been Baker, who has 59 total blocks (0.91 per set), with Short and Megan Crawshaw blocking 43 and 33 kill attempts apiece.
QUICK HITTERS
• Tessa McGill is 35 digs away from moving into the top-20 in career digs in Summit League history.
• Freshman Emily Spencer ranks 51st in NCAA Division I in kills per set, and is the fourth highest freshman total on the list.
• IPFW junior libero Tessa McGill was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on September 12, the fourth time in her career she has earned the honor
• Freshman outside hitter Kendall Wienkes tied the IPFW single-match three-set record with seven service aces against the Cowgirls of Wyoming.
• With 32 digs against DePaul on September 10, Tessa McGill now has six 30+ dig efforts in her career at IPFW.
• Emily Spencer has recorded double-figure kills in each of her first 16 matches this season, the longest streak by a player to open her IPFW career in program history, passing the former mark of nine held by IPFW career kill leader Fabiana Souza.
• Junior libero Tessa McGill has recorded double-figure digs in each of her last 24 games dating back to last season, the second longest such streak in program history which gives her two of the three longest such streaks.
• McGill became the program's 14th member of the 1,000-dig club against Milwaukee, and now has 1,231 for her career, is ninth most in program history.
• McGill reached 1,000 career digs in just 69 matches, the quickest to the milestone of any player in program history.
• Emily Spencer has 12 double-doubles in her 16 matches at IPFW, while Megan Steenhuysen has picked up three this season, giving her 30 in her career, the ninth most over a career in program history.
