LAST TIME OUT
Despite a game-high 20 points from senior Anne Boese, the IPFW Mastodons dropped its 2011-12 season opener to the Cincinnati Bearcats by a 74-42 final score at Fifth Third Arena.
Boese made 8-of-19 shots from the field, and 4-of-10 from long range en route to her 20 points. Amanda Hyde added seven points, with Stefanie Mauk chipping in six. Hyde and Sarah Haluska each pulled down a team-best five rebounds, with Rachel Mauk dishing out three assists. Hillary Moore, in her first collegiate regular-season game, had four points and a team-best three steals.
Cincinnati scored on each of their first four possessions, jumping ahead to a 9-0 lead, and never trailing in the contest. IPFW trailed by eight following a Hyde lay-in, but an 8-0 UC run put the margin at 16, and it never reached single digits over the rest of the contest.
