Mastodons Host Grace in Thursday Battle

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons, off of a near-upset of #25 Michigan State on Tuesday, host the Grace College Lancers at the Gates Sports Center on Thursday in a 7:30 p.m. tip-off, capping a four-game in seven-day stretch.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
Grace, who came into the season ranked 24th among NAIA Division II team in the preseason, have a 5-1 record
with the only loss coming to the preseason No. 8 Concordia squad.
Danielle Boykin leads the team with 15.7 points per game through the first six contests of the season, while
Jauneice Jackson averaged 13.0. Hannah Lengel is just off of the double-figure pace averaging 9.3. Boykin is also
the team's leading rebounder, pulling down an average of 6.5 boards per game, as the Lancers out-rebound its
opponents 40.7-to-32.2 (8.5 margin) for the year.
Kiera Gray and Lengel have dished out 15 and 14 assists, apiece, with Jackson leading the team with 14
steals, and Boykin blocking a team-high nine shots.
LAST TIME OUT
The IPFW women's basketball team held a four-point lead midway through the second half, but #25 Michigan
State used its size down the stretch to climb back and down the Mastodons 62-56 Tuesday evening at the Breslin
Center in East Lansing, Mich.
Anne Boese and Amanda Hyde led the 'Dons with 14 points each. IPFW's bench outscored Michigan State
20-7, while the visitors scored 22 points off Spartan turnovers.

• Last season IPFW played in its first post-season basketball tournament as part of NCAA Division I
when they competed in the Women's Basketball Invitational, falling to Cleveland State
