Mastodons Look to Continue Run against Hampton

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - After falling in double overtime a season ago in Hampton, Virginia to Hampton University, the IPFW Mastodons look to continue its run of strong play, and exact revenge, against the Pirates on Saturday at the Gates Sports Center.

SCOUTING THE PIRATES
Hampton University, a school with an enrollment of 5,402 in Hampton, Virginia, is coming off of its first loss of the
season, a 63-46 loss at the hands of the Florida Gators.
In that loss, Hampton led early by as many as 10 at 16-6 before the host Gators fought back to tie the score
at 20-20 by halftime. Florida opened the second half on a 16-6 run, and Hampton never led again in the 17-point
loss.
This season the squad is led in the scoring column by Jericka Jenkins who averages 13.0 points, while Choicetta
McMillian puts in 11.0 points per contest.
LAST TIME OUT
Behind Anne Boese's season-high 25 points and career-high eight three pointers, the IPFW Mastodons fought their
way past Butler 68-60 Sunday afternoon at the Gates Sports Center.
The Mastodons have won back-to-back games and move to 2-3 on the 2011 season. Butler falls to 1-2 with
the loss. IPFW is now 4-5 all-time against the Bulldogs.
Boese's eight three-pointers was the fourth best single-game performance in Summit League history. With
240 career three-pointers, she moves into second place on the all-time IPFW list, just 10 behind current leader and
former teammate Jordan Zuppe (250).
Murphy came up big for IPFW off the bench, especially in the first half, as she finished with 17 points. Mauk
recorded 10 points, while Amanda Hyde totaled six and a career-high nine rebounds. IPFW shot an impressive 51%
(20-39) from the floor in the win.

• Last season IPFW played in its first post-season basketball tournament as part of NCAA Division I when they competed in the Women's Basketball Invitational, falling to Cleveland State
• IPFW head coach Chris Paul is the winningest coach in program history at 74-101

• IPFW senior Stephanie Rosado was named to the Summit League Preseason First Team

• Senior Anne Boese currently ranks fifth in Summit League history with 240 career three-point baskets made, and trails the all-time conference leader (Brenna Doty of Buffalo) by 22.
• Boese also stands 10 three-point makes away from passing former teammate Jordan Zuppe for the program career record in the category
