MACOMB, Ill. - Senior Ryan Olbin and sophomore Drew Imel each took a share of 16th place to lead the Mastodons to a sixth place finish at the WIU Beu/Mussato Invitational.
The tournament, originally scheduled for 54 holes, was shortened to just 36 after first day action extended beyond daylight hours and a snow delay further postponed play.
Olbin posted rounds of 76 and 75 on the tournament, an identical tournament scorecard to teammate Drew Imel, as both posted a two-round score of 151 on the par-72, 6,882 yard course at Harry Mussato Golf Club.
Tomaz Pinheiro checked in third in the IPFW lineup, as the sophomore finished in a tie for 22nd after tallying two rounds of 76. Bruno Carvalho slipped into fourth in the Mastodon lineup after following up yesterday's 74 with a nine-over 81.
Freshman Mitch Bellam rounded out IPFW scorers with back-to-back 80s, finishing in a tie for 52nd place in the 90-player field.
As a team, the 'Dons finished sixth overall, one spot ahead of the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. The host Leathernecks, led by medalist Andrew Godfrey, captured the overall team title with team scores of 294-299.
