
Pinheiro, Bailey Lead Mastodons in Stormy Conditions at Kampen

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Just two days after returning home from a highly successful trip to the Summit League Championship, the IPFW men's golf team returned to links, battling wet and windy conditions at the Boilermaker Invitational at Purdue's Kampen Golf Course.
Sophomore Tomaz Pinheiro led the Mastodons' first day charge, as he posted rounds of 73 and 77 to check in with a tie for 12th place. He currently sits at six-over as his 150 places him within six strokes of the overall leader.?
Junior Jacob Bailey was second on the IPFW lineup after his rounds of 78 and 77 placed him in a tie for 26th place with one round remaining.?
Drew Imel, who finished sixth at the Summit League Championships earlier this week, fired rounds of 79 and 77 to check in a 33rd place while junior John McMillen finished his Saturday one stroke behind Imel at 157 overall. McMillen currently sits in a tie for 38th overall after rounds of 77 and 80.?
Senior Ryan Olbin rounded out IPFW scorers as he fought back after a morning 80 to post a 78 and take a share of 41st place overall.?
As a team, IPFW posted team scores of 307 and 309 on what IPFW Head Coach Billy King called, "Indiana's toughest public course." The 616 has the Mastodon squad in 7th place, 23 strokes off of the lead pace.?
Third round action begins tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. in the final round of the 2011 season.?
