
Men's Golf Finishes in Ninth Place at Michigan State Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - On the final day of the Michigan State Fossum Invitational, the IPFW men's golf team concluded the 54-hole event with a team total of 909 to finish in ninth place overall in the competitive 12-team field.
The Mastodons fired a 310 in the final round, finishing the tournament three strokes behind Youngstown State (906) and eight strokes back of Tennessee State (301). Summit League-member IUPUI took home the team title after posting a two-day total of 875.
After posting two rounds of 73 on Saturday, Drew Imel carded a 79 in the final 18 holes to finish tied for 25th individually with a two-day total of 225. Patrick Kundenreich also fired a 79 on Sunday to go with rounds of 70-78 to finish tied for 30th place (227).
Finishing tied for 37th place was Bruno Carvalho, who totaled a 78 on the last 18 holes to end with a 229. Jacob Groninger finished tied for 44th place with a two-day mark of 231 (76-80-75), while Curtis Coverstone rounded-out the Mastodon scoring with a 54-hole total of 233 (77-78-78).
Eddie Tacket matched Kundenreich for 30th place after carding a 78 on Sunday morning to go with first day rounds of 74-75.
Michael Davan of IUPUI won the overall individual competition with a 54-hole total of 214.
The Mastodons will hit the practice range before returning to the Bowling Green John Piper Intercollegiate, which runs Sept.19-20 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
