Mastodons Fall in Four Sets to Puerto Rico

San Juan, P.R. - Phil Peterson recorded 16 kills and five digs, but costly team errors on both sides of the net lifted Puerto Rico to a four-set (25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 35-33) victory over IPFW Saturday afternoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
IPFW drops its first match on the 2012 season, moving to 1-1 overall. The Mastodons hit .252 in the second match between this two teams this week, earning 56 kills on 131 attempts.
Along with Peterson, Ivan Matos posted a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs, while Elon Fyfield added 10 kills. Jonathon Rivera managed a season-best 46 assists to go with two blocks.
IPFW will return to action on Jan. 13, when they remain on the road to play George Mason in Fairfax, Va. Match-time is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.
