Women's Soccer to face Coyotes on Friday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Riding a two-match win streak, the IPFW Mastodons look to continue their run on Friday evening when they face off against the South Dakota Coyotes.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Mastodons and Coyotes have met once all-time, when IPFW broughth ome a 2-0 win in Fort Wayne a season ago.
The Mastodons dominated the match with most of the play on IPFW's half of the field. The 'Dons recorded a total of 21 shots, with five on goal, while the Coyotes had 9 shots, with four on goal.
In the 30th minute, junior Lisa Underwood got the Mastodons on the board after freshman Sydney Hoareau passed the ball to junior Rhea Proctor, who then dropped a cross in front of the box to Underwood.
Underwood, a Fort Wayne native, is currently in second place in the IPFW women's soccer program for most career goals (22) and only three goals away from tying the record (25).
In the 73rd minute, senior Tara O'Toole provided insurance to the Mastodons lead. O'Toole earned her second goal of the season after gathering a pass from junior-teammate Danielle Bishop on the breakaway, beating the keeper to the far post for the 2-0 final score.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are looking to tie a school record on Friday afternoon with their third straight win, tying the longest streak in a single-season in school history, and two wins away from tying the overall win record of four in a row: three to end the 2003 season, and a win in the opener in 2004.
The Mastodons have a 6-6-0 record on the year, with the team a perfect 6-0 when they reach the scoring column in a game.
The squad is led by Danielle Bishop who has three goals and an assist, while Sydney Hoareau and Erin Gill each have two scores. Tylar Allison has two assists, while seven others: Bishop, Hoareau, Rachel Good, Rhea Proctor, Tessa Edwards, Maya Reyes, and Amber Lawrence, each have one assist.
Sam Pavlika has been in goal for the entire season for the Mastodons, and has a 1.06 goals against average with 56 saves and a trio of shutouts.
SCOUTING THE COYOTES
South Dakota comes into the game with a 1-9-3 overall record, and their only win coming against the NAIA's College of St. Mary, with ties against North Dakota, Loyola (Ill.), and IUPUI.
For the year in the team's 13 games, the Coyotes have been out-scored by a 35-15 margin. Leading the way for the offensive side of the ball are a pair of players, Jenny Teslow and Danielle Anderson, who have a combined nine goals on the year (Teslow with five, Anderson four). Two others, Erin Bello and Teagan Eberle have scored twice. Anderson and Allison Giddings have two assists to pace USD.
Defensive, the Coyotes have used a trio of goalkeepers, Mackenzie Viktor leading the group with a 1.86 goals against average in 193 minutes, while Jen Schaefer has a 2.15 goals against average in 543 minutes, and Abby Lindsay a 3.22 GAA in 503 minutes.
