Women's Golf Caps Fall Season in Dayton

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's golf team will cap its 2012 fall season on Monday and Tuesday, October 22 and 23 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational hosted at the NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.

COMPETING TEAMS
There are 17 teams competing in the women's field along with IPFW, and those teams include Alabama State, Bellarmine, Chicago State, Dayton, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Findlay, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Otterbein, Robert Morris, Oakland, Valparaiso, and Youngstown State.

ABOUT THE COURSE
The 18-hole "North" course at the NCR Country Club facility in Kettering, Ohio features 6,358 yards of golf from the longest tees. The course rating is a 70.4 and it has a slope rating of 120 on bent grass. Designed by Dick Wilson, the North course opened in 1954.

LAST TOURNAMENT
The IPFW Mastodons shot a final-round 344, placing 10th in the field at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, hosted by Austin Peay.

Ashton Taft shot the low round for the Mastodons on day two with an 85, while Allison Curtis and Alyssa Turney each carded an 86. Brenna Sherwood shot an 87 for the second straight day, while Sydney Bailey carded a final-round 89.

Over the two rounds, Curtis was the team's top golfer with a 163, placing in a tie for 29th, while Taft shot a 168 (tie-42nd). Turney and Bailey each ended with a 173, good for a tie fo 52nd, while Brenna Sherwood had a 174 for a tie of 56th place.
