FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons will look to snap their four-game losing skid on Saturday, as the team travels to face off against the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland University in a 12 p.m. tip-off.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland comes into the Saturday afternoon game after snapping a two-game losing skid with a 74-70 double overtime
victory over the Leathernecks of Western Illinois University on Saturday, February 4.
In the game, Reggie Hamilton erupted for 40 points on 13-of-24 shooting from the field, and 9-of-14 from long range,
while Travis Bader scored 19 and Drew Valentine scored 10 points while pulling down eight rebounds. The teams were knotted at 50 at the end of regulation, and at 60 all after the first overtime, before Oakland out-scored WIU 14-10 in the second extra stanza to pick up the win.
For the year, Hamilton leads the squad with 24.3 points per game, second best in the country, while Bader scores an
average of 14.7 points per game and Valentine 12.2. Corey Petros and Laval Lucas-Perry each are nearing the double-figure plateau at 9.3 and 9.2 points per game.
Petros holds a slim lead in the team's rebounding category, pulling down 7.5 boards per game while Valentine averages 7.2 rebounds per contest. As a team, the Golden Grizzlies get out-rebounded by just under a half-rebound per game. Hamilton, in addition to leading the team in scoring, also has a team-best 130 assists, twice as many as his next closest teammate. Hamilton also has 56 steals, while Kyle Sikora leads the team with 15 blocked shots.
SERIES vs. OAKLAND
Oakland holds a dominating 15-3 lead in the all-time series between the two teams, including winning each of the last nine meetings. The Mastodons won the first two meetings between the schools as members of The Summit League in 2007-08; however, Oakland has rattled off nine straight, including two in the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
LAST TIME OUT
Leading by nine in the second half, Chicago State out-scored IPFW 17-2 over the final four minutes, clinching the 63-57
Cougar victory at the Jones Convocation Center on Tuesday evening.
Trey McCorkle scored 14 points in the second half, and 21 for the game, while Frank Gaines scored 16, nine in the second frame while dishing out a career-high four assists in the losing effort.
McCorkle grabbed six rebounds, and Michael Kibiloski five as the Mastodons were out-rebounded 36-to-29 in the contest.
Gaines' four assists tied for a game-high, while five 'Dons, Jonny Marlin, John Peckinpaugh, Antwaun Boyd, Kibiloski,
and Joe Edwards each gave out two helpers in the loss.
EARLIER THIS SEASON AGAINST OAKLAND
In a game featuring two of the top 11 scorers in NCAA Division I, the teams combined for 182 points, including 20 off the bench from Mario Hines in an Oakland 96-86 victory over the IPFW Mastodons on Saturday evening.
Coming into the game, Oakland's Reggie Hamilton was third in Division I in scoring average, while IPFW's Frank Gaines was 11th. Hamilton ended with a game-high 30 points, while Gaines had 19.
Hines led five IPFW players in double-figures in the scoring column, making 8-of-9 shots from the field and 4-of-7 charity stripe attempts. Antwaun Boyd scored a career-high 15 points, while Justin Jordan added a dozen, and Michael Kibiloski 11. Three of the Mastodons' double-figure scorers came off the bench, as the IPFW reserves outscored their Oakland counterparts 49-to-37 in the game.
Hines and Isaiah McCray pulled down five rebounds to lead the team, with IPFW out-rebounding Oakland 34-to-28, while Jordan led the team with four assists.
