Women's Soccer Heads out on Weekend Exhibition Series

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's soccer team heads north to Western Michigan University for a Friday afternoon meeting between the Mastodons and the Broncos, before keeping on a weekend swing, and facing off against the Northern Illinois Huskies on Sunday.

About IPFW: The Mastodons looked sharp in their 2012 exhibition opener with a 3-1 win over the Detroit Titans last Friday evening. Senior Danielle Bishop scored a pair of goals for IPFW, while Arianne Mason converted a breakaway for the team's third and final goal of the contest.
Sydney Hoareau and Brooke Bishir each picked up assists on Bishop goals, while Mason's was unassisted.
In the goal, Krysta Hedrick played the first 60 minutes, picking up two saves and allowing a goal, while freshman Sam Pavlika had one save in a scoreless 30 minutes of action.
About Western Michigan: The Western Michigan Broncos, under first-year head coach Nate Norman, make their 2012 season debut on Friday. Last season WMU tied the school record for wins in a season, making their second-straight Mid-American Conference Tournament final appearance.
All-Time Series: The two teams have met one time prior to this exhibition meeting, and that reculted in a 3-0 Bronco win over the Mastodons on September 26, 2004 in Fort Wayne.
